Paragliding
Paragliding
is a hill-based, free flight, foot
launched aviation sport similar to hang
gliding and should not be confused with
parachuting or parascending. Paragliders
are controlled by pulling control
handles and by weight shift. The
paragliders themselves are lightweight
and fit into a rucksack so there is no
great load to carry back up the hill
when you are learning. When you are
experienced you can, of course, soar
ridges and thermal to cloud base in a
similar way to hang gliding.
Paragliding
is on offer at Cambourne from Cornwall
Paragliding
and from Fly
Chaps in Redruth.
Parachuting
Parachute
training is available at Cornwall
Parachute Club based at St Merryn
Airfield, telephone 01841540691.

Mevagissey

is based in the harbour of Mevagissey.
It offers a wide range of sailing
experiences ranging from a very
competitively priced hands-on
introduction to sailing, ideal for
families or small groups who have always
wanted to have a go at sailing.
The
more ambitious may wish to sail on more
extended cruises to the Channel Isles,
the French coast of North Brittany or
the Isles of Scilly. The superb
coastline lends itself to teaching the
various practical RYA courses, while at
the same time giving you the chance to
view this area of outstanding natural
beauty. Further, the school's location
is ideal for exploring the South Cornish
and Devon coast with many interesting
and ancient harbours and sheltered
anchorages.
